| Get Rid of Your Old Fridge!!!! | | Jefferson County will be accepting discard appliances through the Household Hazardous Waste Program. A roll off dumpster has been located at the county shop to place the appliances in. Items such as refrigerators, freezers, humidifiers, stoves (just to name a few) can be dropped off during business hours. As with all of the Household Hazardous Waste Programs there is no charge for the drop off. All we ask is that you stop by the Public Works office and fill out a form detailing the items you wish to dispose of. The office is located at 15049 94th Street in Oskaloosa, Kansas. |
| | Pasturegard will replace Remedy | | Jefferson County will no longer be providing cost share on Remedy herbicide. You all may know this as a product used for Sericea Lespedeza control. Dow Agrosciences, the manufacturers of Remedy, have put together a new formulation for Sericea Lespedeza control. Pasturegard, a combination of Remedy and Vista, will now be the Dow product Jefferson County will cost share on for Sericea. Kansas State field studies have shown that the combination of these two products is more effective. Pasturegard at labled rates will also be cheaper per acre than Remedy. For more information on Pasturegard please contact our office. |
